VW Ignition Points – Bosch – 1961-64 Beetle – Ghia – 1960-63 Bus – 1962-63 Type 3

Description

The German made 01006 Ignition points install inside the distributor and open and close as the shaft spins breaking the coils ground momentarily to send the spark to the appropriate spark plug. The ignition points fit original distributors in 1961 through 1964 Beetles and Karmann Ghias, 1960 through 1963 Type 2 Bus models and 1962 through 1963 Type 3s.

Please note that the fitments listed are for what VW originally equipped the model listed with. It is very possible that after 40 years, the distributor may have been changed so we recommend verifying your distributor before ordering any distributor parts.

Beginner Tips:

The VW Ignition points are inside the VW distributor and are connected to the ignition condensor. The points are typically replaced every 3000 miles.
