“The 01013 Ignition points install inside the distributor and open and close as the shaft spins breaking the coils ground momentarily to send the spark to the appropriate sparkplug. The ignition points fit original distributors in 1968 through 1970 Beetles and Karmann Ghias with standard (non Autostick) transmissions and 1968 through 1970 Type 2 Bus models.
Please note that the fitments listed are for what VW originally equipped the model listed with. It is very possible that after 40 years, the distributor may have been changed so we recommend verifying your distributor before ordering any distributor parts.“
