VW Boxed Trailing Arms – Stock Width X 1 Inch Longer – Pair cheap

These VW Type 1, IRS Boxed Trailing Arms are stock width, but 1″ longer than stock. The additional length offers more lift and travel versusstock trailing arms. The mild steel arms boxed design is stronger than stock and allows the installer to choose a shock mounting location,shock mounts are not included. The bearing housing is compatible with stock VW Type 1 IRS bearings, spacers anc C-clips so your stock partscan be reused along with the stock stub axles. However due to the increased travel, we recommend using conversion stubs that run larger Type2 or Porsche 930 CV Joints along with corresponding transaxle output flanges. The +1 boxed trailings are great for mild Baja Bugs, Manx StyleBuggies, Sand Rails and other VW IRS rear suspended vehicles that want more travel and strength compared to stock.

Stock drum brake backing plates can be installed to the boxed trailing arms. If you plan on installing discbrakes, you will have to weld on caliper brackets (such as part number 17-2679) directly to the arm.
